Agios Nikoloas

This is for what Georgiopoulis is most famous for: Saint Nicolas church that is only reachable by foot by walking on rocks leading into the Aegean Sea. The Church was build to bless the fishermen going out to sea.

Georgiopouli Beach

Georgiopouli has one of the longest beaches at almost 10 kilometers long. Take a swim or walk along the shore. If you dont want to get, walk alongside the boulevard which is a few kilometers long.

Kalyvaki Beach

This part of the beach is right to the mountain and called Kalyvaki beach. It beachfront is round and because of the mountain the water is cooler. Also you can find public miniature replica’s of Crete’s famous history.

Kournas Lake

Walk, relax, or swim at Lake Kournas, the only fresh water lake in Crete. It offers a sandy beach with mountain backdrops. Entrance and parking are for free. Plenty of restuarants and gift shops are open and serve special charcoaled food.Paddle boats are offered against a fee.

This qaint river set on the border of Georgiopolis and Exopolis near the little port you can enjoy paddle boating amongst turtles and swans. The water of the Aegean Sea flows into this river and provides a calm atmosphere.
